Analysis of the match between Monaco and Man City
Man City are in excellent form, unbeaten in their last five matches with four wins. Ahead of their trip to Monaco, Pep Guardiola’s side demolished Burnley 5-1 in Premier League Round 6, with Erling Haaland shining with a brace and an assist.
During their most recent visit to Louis II, Man City lost 1-3 to Monaco, but that was back in 2017, when Guardiola was in his first year at Etihad. Now, Man City are considered one of the favorites for this season’s Champions League.
Monaco are currently struggling in form and defense. They have lost two of their last three matches, including a 1-4 defeat to Club Brugge in the Champions League. Despite an impressive home record (8 wins, 1 draw in their last 9 home matches), Monaco are unlikely to withstand Man City’s potent attack, especially with Haaland in top form.
In short, Louis II is unlikely to trouble Man City, and Pep Guardiola’s side are very likely to secure a victory by a margin of at least two goals.
