Analysis of the match between Arsenal and Olympiacos
Arsenal have been in impressive form recently in both the Premier League and the Champions League. Most recently, the Gunners edged Newcastle 2-1 in Round 6 of the Premier League, climbing to second place and narrowing the gap to leaders Liverpool to just two points (13 vs 15). This result provides the perfect boost ahead of their home clash with Olympiakos in Matchday 2 of the Champions League group stage.
At the moment, Arsenal sit 7th with 3 points, while Olympiakos are down in 21st with only a single point. Both teams are unbeaten in their last five matches, but Arsenal clearly have the edge in squad quality and overall class. Moreover, the Emirates has remained an unbreachable fortress since the start of the season.
Even so, Arsenal must stay alert, as in the last six head-to-head meetings, each side has claimed three victories. Still, given their current form and home advantage, Mikel Arteta’s men are strong favorites to secure all three points in London.
